The Heman Panther (also commercially referred to as the Heman Sten Gun or Heman Panther Convertible) is a unique, heavy-duty break-barrel spring-piston air gun manufactured in India. This model stands out because it bridges the gap between a large air pistol and a compact air rifle. It features a modular, tactical design often equipped with an ergonomic synthetic pistol grip and a skeletal wire-frame stock setup, giving it a distinct submachine gun appearance.
Built for casual backyard plinking, target shooting, and beginner training, the gun is constructed with a solid metal body and receiver. It operates on a traditional single-shot spring-piston power plant; the user breaks open the rifled barrel to compress the mainspring, loads a single .177 caliber pellet directly into the breech, and snaps it shut to fire. Thanks to its longer barrel assembly and larger internal air compression tube compared to standard pocket air pistols, the Panther delivers a significantly higher muzzle velocity and an effective range extending up to 30 to 40 meters.
